The twelfth blessed place in the world--Da Ruoyan Taogong Cave Taogong Cave has a long history. Two thousand years ago, during the Ganlu period of the Later Han Dynasty, the Taoist Fu Yinyao once lived here; during the Three Kingdoms period, the Taoist Wang Xuanzhen practiced here; during the Qi and Liang periods of the Southern Dynasty, the famous Taoist thinker Tao Hongjing, known as the 'Prime Minister in the Mountains', wrote the book 'Zhen Jie' here. The temple in the cave was first built in the seventh year of Xiantong in the Tang Dynasty (866), and was rebuilt during the Song, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The incense here is strong, and there are many tourists. Every year from the first to the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month is the best time for incense, with over ten thousand people burning incense and praying for blessings every day. Taogong Cave is praised by Taoists as the 'twelfth blessed place in the world', located at the foot of Da Ruoyan Mountain, it is a large natural cave. The cave is 56 meters high, 76 meters wide, and 79 meters deep, making it the largest stone chamber in southern Zhejiang. The cave is divided into two levels, the lower level has a three-room Guanyin Pavilion, and the lecture platform can accommodate hundreds of people. Outside the cave, there is a nine-column front hall, a bell and drum tower, side rooms, and a monk's kitchen. On the south side of the cave, a 56-step stone staircase leads to the upper level 'Tiantai'. Behind the Tiantai, there is a Hu Gong Temple, which enshrines the statue of Emperor Hu Gong, and in front of it is the Wenchang Pavilion. There is a jar-shaped 'Red Water Well' on the right side of the shrine, which never dries up or overflows. On the south side of the cave wall, there are two long-shaped caves, known as the Flowing Rice Cave and the White Shad Cave. At night, the candles shine, the white stone walls of the cave look like floating clouds or scales, with different shades of light and dark, and different colors from near and far.
