Yokohama trip

#travel #yokohamabay #yokohama After spending a few busy days in Tokyo, I decided to take a short escape to the charming port city of Yokohama for a quick 2-day, 1-night trip. I left from Shibuya Station, hopping on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, which took just about 30 minutes and cost around ¥400. The ride was smooth, and before I knew it, I had arrived in Yokohama. My first stop was the vibrant Yokohama Chinatown, one of the largest in Japan. The streets were lined with red lanterns, the smell of steamed buns filled the air, and shops offered everything from dim sum to sweet sesame balls. I couldn’t resist trying freshly made pork buns and shrimp dumplings — both were absolutely delicious and made for the perfect midday snack. In the afternoon, I checked in at the luxurious Hilton Yokohama, a newly opened hotel conveniently located near the bay area. The room was spacious and modern, with sweeping views of the city skyline. A night here costs around ¥30,000, which is quite reasonable for the level of comfort and amenities offered. As the sun began to set, I wandered around the Minato Mirai area — a picturesque waterfront filled with glowing lights, modern architecture, and a peaceful atmosphere. For dinner, I headed to TGI Fridays at Yokohama Minato Mirai, a cozy spot with classic American dishes and a great view of the bay. I enjoyed a hearty burger and fries while watching the city lights shimmer on the water. The next morning, I woke up early to enjoy a peaceful walk along the bay. The crisp sea breeze and quiet paths made for a refreshing start to the day. I strolled from Yamashita Park to the Osanbashi Pier, taking in the calm waters and the sight of cruise ships gently docked by the port. Before heading back to Tokyo, I stopped by the iconic Red Brick Warehouse, a beautifully preserved historic building now filled with trendy shops and seasonal markets. Just a short walk away was the NYK Maritime Museum, where I spent some time learning about Japan’s naval history. The museum entrance fee was only ¥400 — a small price to pay for a fascinating experience. This short getaway was the perfect contrast to the fast pace of Tokyo. Yokohama offers a more relaxed, scenic atmosphere without sacrificing great food, culture, and convenience. It’s a city that balances modern charm with historical richness — and it’s just a train ride away. #tokyospots #holidayitinerary #postandearn
