[Kanagawa Prefecture/Hoshikawa Sugiyama Shrine] A friendly shrine on a hilltop that is close to the local community!

This shrine is located on a hill in Yokohama City! Even though it is on a hill, it is not a very gentle place. It reminds me of Atami. If you are not confident in your legs, you will need to take a bus or taxi. The nearest station is Hoshikawa Station, and the hill area is thought to be a new town. The shrine is surrounded by residential areas, but it is lush with greenery and has an atmosphere that sets it apart from the surrounding area. At Hoshikawa Sugiyama Shrine, the first thing I saw at any shrine I have visited was a chozuya (purification fountain) located within the enclosure. It was stylish and very beautiful! When I visited, it was Halloween 🎃, and many groups of kindergarteners were visiting and receiving sweets at the shrine.
