Jimi Square

Jimi Square, inspired by the famous characters created by the renowned picture book author Jimi from Luodong Township, Yilan County, is located on both sides of the road to the left of Yilan Train Station's exit. Since its completion, it has quickly become a popular spot for photos, with tour buses bringing visitors from all over to admire it daily. It is the first Jimi-themed square in Taiwan. The original site of the square was an old dormitory of the Railway Bureau that had been unused for years. After renovation, Jimi used the concept of 'Moments of Memory' to design the square. While preserving some historically significant buildings and old trees, the entire square integrates characters and scenes from his famous works, along with textual guides, creating a unique visual experience. You can find three-dimensional art installations of popular works such as 'Turn Left, Turn Right' and 'Starry Night' in the square. There are also many snack shops and shopping malls around the square, allowing visitors to eat, shop, and rest as they explore.
