Kyoto of Light - Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine

Bamboo and stone lanterns invite visitors. Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine is located on top of Mt. Otokoyama in Yawata City and has a beautiful vermilion-painted shrine building (national treasure). The shrine, which is said to have used madake bamboo from around Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine and has a deep connection to bamboo, is lit up by the light of the bamboo lanterns.
