Jishengxiang Pharmacy in Hekou Ancient Town, Lead Mountain, Jiangxi

Built in the early years of the Republic of China, Jishengxiang Pharmacy was the earliest joint-stock industrial and commercial enterprise in Hekou. Its founders, Cai Qiuxuan and Cai Zhitian, hailed from Fengcheng, Jiangxi. The pharmacy boasts a grand architectural style, with exquisitely carved facades. Its construction cost 5,000 silver dollars and took three years to complete. Jishengxiang Pharmacy's building is magnificent. Its land was rented from the Hongdu Guild Hall. Although the street-facing facade is only about nine meters wide, the building expands towards the rear on both sides, encompassing the rear land of one household on the left and two households on the right. Extending approximately fifty meters deep to the end of Wufu Lane, the entire building covers an area of nearly 1,000 square meters. It is a historical building in Shangrao City.
