Yangshuo hides a "Little Li River," and the banks of the Yulong River are truly beautiful!

As the longest tributary of the Li River within Yangshuo, the Yulong River resembles a winding jade belt embedded in this magical land of Yangshuo, located in the central-western part of Yangshuo County. It stretches 43.5 kilometers with a drainage area of 158.47 square kilometers. Originating from Lingui District, it flows joyfully through five townships—Jinbao, Putao, Baisha, Yangshuo, and Gaotian—and more than 20 villages in Yangshuo County, finally merging into the Li River north of Tianjiahe Village. Geographically, the Yulong River lies at the core of the Guilin Karst landscape. Its unique geological structure creates picturesque scenery like poetry and paintings. The peaks along both banks stand tall with diverse shapes—some resemble camels carrying loads, others look like fairies descending to earth, and some appear like giant elephants drinking water. Each peak seems like a carefully crafted work of art by nature. The Yulong River acts as a lively link, connecting these scattered beauties into a landscape painting stretching for dozens of kilometers. The Yulong River not only adds natural beauty to Yangshuo but also forms an important part of the local ecosystem. The surrounding ecology is rich, nurturing numerous plants and animals, together creating a harmonious ecological home. The river also carries profound historical and cultural heritage, with ancient bridges and villages along its course witnessing the passage of time and telling old stories. The Yulong River Trail is a great place for hiking. Strolling along the riverbank, you can breathe fresh air, listen to birdsong, and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature. You can start from Jinlongqiao Pier and walk along the trail to Jiuxian Pier, covering about 6 kilometers. Along the way, you can enjoy the river’s scenic mountains and waters, ancient bridges, and old villages. During the hike, please remember to protect the environment and avoid littering.
