Summer Fun at the Yellow Sea Wetlands

Just returned from the Yellow Sea Wetlands study camp with my child, and now they keep asking me when we can go again. This mom's heart has been completely captured! 😍 🌟 This trip to the Yellow Sea Wetlands was to a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, home to the world's largest continuous mudflat coastline and a critical hub for the East Asia–Australasia migratory bird route. Its ecological value is off the charts, making it an underrated gem for family outings! 🥰 🌎 The itinerary was packed and the experience was amazing. Let me share the details with you now— Day 1: We arrived in Nanjing at noon, and the staff provided a super thoughtful airport pickup. In the evening, we went on a nighttime exploration at Hongshan Zoo. My little one carried a flashlight 🔎, marveling at the animals' nocturnal behaviors. We stayed overnight at the zoo's camp, and the child was so excited they couldn't sleep, saying it felt like the animals were right beside us. 😆 Day 2: After breakfast, we had an in-depth tour of Hongshan Zoo. My child followed the keepers around, asking endless questions, their curiosity overflowing 📕. In the afternoon, we headed to Yancheng and visited the Wetland Museum, where the child immersed themselves in learning about wetland flora and fauna. The evening featured a car lecture, making the day both enriching and fun 😊. Day 3: At 5 a.m., we embarked on a special sunrise bay activity. Despite the early wake-up, the moment we saw the sunrise was absolutely worth it 🌅. In the morning, we conducted research at the Milu Deer Park, followed by a wetland patrol and research at Ye Ludang in the afternoon. At night, we stargazed at the World Dark Sky Reserve, and with professional equipment, my child saw the Milky Way, screaming with excitement 😍. Day 4: In the morning, we experienced the traditional craft of paper cutting at Qinhu Lake, a cultural heritage activity. In the afternoon, we visited the Yellow Sea Forest Park 🏞. At night, we explored forest creatures, using professional equipment to catch insects and make specimens. My child was both scared and curious, making the experience unforgettable 🤗. Day 5: In the morning, we toured the Rare Bird Protection Area, learning about species like the red-crowned crane. In the afternoon, we went mudflat fishing at Sunrise Bay. My child ran around the mudflats, getting completely covered in mud but laughing endlessly 😉. Day 6: After packing up, our family concluded this unforgettable journey 🥰. 👨‍👩‍👧 This trip to the Yellow Sea Wetlands allowed my child to experience the wonders of nature firsthand and learn so much beyond the classroom. Letting kids step out of their textbooks and into nature, learning through exploration and broadening their horizons, is far more meaningful than just solving problems.
