Transportation: Although it is more than 40 km from the city center, you can still get there without driving or taking a taxi. There is a K2 bus line from the airport/high-speed rail station directly to the west gate. The time on Baidu Maps is not accurate, it is not that long, it includes the walking time to another gate. The fare is capped at CNY 7, and it takes about 100 minutes from the bus stop near the airport. If you drive, it can be shortened to less than 1 hour. For the return trip, please note that the last K2 bus is at 17:40. Please arrange your time reasonably. Scenic area ticket: CNY 40, a few CNY cheaper online. The wild red-crowned cranes come to spend the winter from late October to late February of the following year, so the best time to visit is mid-November. There are also other migratory birds that come to spend the winter. The best time to see the red-crowned cranes is mid-December, and there are as many as 400–600 wild red-crowned cranes. There are also flight activities on weekdays, at 10:30 am and 15:30 pm. On weekends and holidays, you can go to the flight point a little earlier. There are no flights in rainy or snowy weather. At 15:15, there is an explanation and a small gift (red-crowned crane postcard) activity. If you can, bring a telephoto camera/phone to the scenic area. There are many birds, and drones are not allowed. The phone in the picture is still a bit reluctant. There are only 4 main attractions, the museum at the west gate, the waterfowl lake, the red-crowned crane breeding center, and the Xu Xiujun's former residence/memorial hall. They are not very big attractions. If you have good physical strength, you can just buy the main entrance ticket. The small transportation in the scenic area depends on your situation. The flight point is not very big, and there is a family of three red-crowned cranes walking around. Of course, you cannot feed them! Other precautions: Pay attention to mosquito prevention. There are simple drinks and snacks for sale at the entrance, which are 2–3 CNY more expensive than the normal price. There are also grilled sausages, small bread, and drinks for sale at the flight point in the scenic area. It is okay to fill your stomach, but there are no restaurants. Note that the flight time is only a short one or two minutes.
