The world's smallest city is related to Guan Yu!

🌈Attraction highlights: Hansang City is a small city with walls no more than 3 meters high and 2.5 meters wide, battlements, and a stone tablet embedded in the city gate. In the city, there is a mulberry tree with withered branches and a gnarled trunk, which is about 1,800 years old. It is said that it was planted by Guan Yu during the Three Kingdoms period. The trunk of the mulberry tree is almost withered, but new mulberry trees have grown from the roots, and they are still thriving after several generations. In the Ming Dynasty, the local government built a brick wall around the tree. The city wall is 11 meters long, 2.7 meters high, 3.5 meters in diameter, and covers an area of more than 10 square meters. It is made of blue bricks and has battlements on top, resembling a city wall, hence the name Hansang City. It is said that after Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei swore an oath of brotherhood in the Peach Garden, they stationed their troops in Xinye and invited Zhuge Liang to be their military advisor. Zhuge Liang was kind and loved the people, and he was strict with military discipline, so he was deeply supported by the people. One day, Guan Yu was so focused on reading military books that he neglected the horse tied under the mulberry tree in front of the door. This horse was also very famous, as it was the legendary Red Hare. The Red Hare gnawed on the landlord's mulberry tree. When Zhuge Liang learned of this, he immediately punished Guan Yu and ordered him to plant another mulberry tree as compensation to the landlord. At first, Guan Yu couldn't understand and thought that Zhuge Liang was embarrassing him. But after careful consideration, he felt that the military advisor's words made sense: to be kind and love the people, and to enforce military discipline, soldiers must be treated equally. If one is not upright, how can one correct others? So he personally bought a mulberry tree from the market, happily planted it in the original place, and apologized to the landlord many times. Later, to protect the mulberry tree, a city wall was built around it. 🕐️Opening hours: 6:00 am–10:00 pm 🚗Transportation: You can drive to Hansang City using navigation, or walk to Hancheng Road from the old bus station in Xinye County, or scan the QR code on the red electric bike by the roadside and ride there. 💗Other tips: There doesn't seem to be any city buses passing by, and parking is not very convenient. It's best to park in a nearby parking lot to avoid getting a ticket.
