Xilinhot Travel Guide~

Arrived in Xilinhot before the rainy season. The day before, we traveled the Dada Line and Re'a Line, stayed one night in Jingpeng Town, and finally drove to Xilinhot. Xilinhot feels like a very down-to-earth city. The people here are warm and hospitable, and very relaxed. Many herders from Xilingol come here to shop and settle down. It’s not heavily commercialized, making it a great place to stay and experience Mongolian and Yuan culture. Attractions: In the city, we visited the Xilingol Museum (free admission), the Nadam Folk Culture Park (bonfire party at night), and Beizi Temple. Beizi Temple, with its blue bricks and red walls, is a Tibetan Buddhist temple complex. The Buddha statues in Chongsheng Temple are very magnificent and worth seeing. Behind Beizi Temple is the Thirteen Aobao, and in front is a square where locals relax and socialize. The peaceful temple complex and lively crowds blend together, fully showcasing the cultural harmony and relaxed vibe of Xilinhot. Outside the city, there are attractions like Wulagai Grassland, Xilin Nine Bends Bay, Pingdingshan Volcano Group, and Matishan Volcano. Friends planning to spend more days in Xilinhot can visit these places. Food: On the first day, we ate at Said Mongolian Restaurant, which has a great environment and service. The garlic fish and sheep head dishes received unanimous praise from the whole family, and the prices are very reasonable. On the second day, we tried Zhuangjia Laohan Helou Noodles, which were tasty and cost-effective. Highly recommend the Yuanhe Morning Market, a favorite for morning market lovers. Many herders set up stalls selling dairy products and dried meat, full of local life atmosphere, much more authentic than the specialty shops on the main street. Accommodation recommendation: We stayed at the Grassland City Hotel on Zhenxing Street. Although the hotel’s exterior is unassuming, it’s truly impressive inside. First, there is a very spacious parking lot, making parking and luggage handling very convenient. The double room we booked was very spacious, perfect for families traveling with children and elderly—very comfortable. The room is very airy, no need to turn on the air conditioner at night, with a gentle breeze naturally flowing through, and it’s very quiet, ideal for a good rest after a long day. The room is very clean, certified by cleanliness enthusiasts. They also thoughtfully provided tea bags, disposable face towels, and bath towels. The front desk staff were friendly, and the housekeeping aunties were very warm. Our whole family was very impressed by the hospitality of the Inner Mongolian people. Most importantly, the entire room is smart-enabled! Very convenient—curtains, TV, and smart toilet can all be controlled directly via Xiaodu, making it easy for the elderly and fun for the kids. Finally, I especially recommend everyone to visit Xilingol, to experience the vast endless grasslands and the warm hospitality of the Inner Mongolian people. Such a vast land breeds no narrow-mindedness—truly a wonderful travel experience.
