Go to Balang Mountain to see the blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains.

Tired of the foggy weather in Dujiangyan, I decided to escape to the plateau. I set off from Dujiangyan and drove 20 km to Yingxiu Town. From Yingxiu, I drove another 100 km through Wolong Nature Reserve, climbing from 900 m to 3,600 m above sea level, and finally saw the blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains. From Balang Mountain, I drove up the winding mountain road. After passing Dengshengou, I saw three viewing platforms at different heights. Due to geological reasons, the bottom of the two lower viewing platforms was partially suspended, so they were closed. I had to keep going up. There was a Beimu Ping viewing platform opposite the food stall in front of the tunnel, where I could park and take photos. This viewing platform is indeed a good place to rest. First, it is high, so the view is better. Second, there are free parking spaces and restrooms (for a fee). Third, there are stalls and restaurants where you can get supplies. Fourth, if you keep going up, you will soon enter the tunnel, and then it will be downhill all the way. You won't be able to take photos anymore. I also saw people parking their cars on the side of the road and climbing over the fence to the viewing platform to take photos. This behavior is risky and not recommended. The weather on the mountain changes quickly. If the scenery is really good, it is worth taking a little risk. If you follow the rules like us, the scenery will be much worse when you reach the top because of the clouds and fog. You can choose according to your actual situation. Remember to pay attention to safety when parking, taking photos, and crossing the road.
