Relaxing and Fun 3-Day 2-Night Parent-Child Trip Guide to Ningbo Xiangshan

I recently took my kids to Xiangshan in Ningbo, and I must say, it's absolutely perfect for family trips! Here's my 3-day 2-night parent-child travel guide: 🗓 My Itinerary: Day1: Depart from Shanghai → Lunch in Xiangshan → Check-in at homestay → Banshan Beach → Dinner at Shipu Ancient Town → Stay at homestay near Banshan ✅ Departed Shanghai at 8:30 AM, arrived in Xiangshan at 1:00 PM. If traveling during holidays, leave early to avoid traffic. After checking in at the homestay, we had lunch at a nearby restaurant; ✅ Banshan Beach: Free. After lunch, we walked from our homestay to Banshan Beach. Passing through the colorful Fishing Town, it's just a 2-3 minute walk to reach the beach with fine sand where kids can collect shells and play in the water. ✅ Shipu Ancient Town: Just 20 minutes drive from Banshan. The ancient town looks beautiful at night with many snack options - don't miss the seafood noodles! Bonus: Free admission after 8 PM! 🏨 Accommodation: Xiangshan is large, so we stayed near Banshan on the first night - conveniently located between Shipu Ancient Town and Songlan Mountain. Day2: After breakfast, visit Songlan Mountain → Stay at homestay near Songlan Mountain ✅ Songlan Mountain: Free ✔️ After breakfast, we checked out and drove 40 minutes to Songlan Mountain ✔️ Very crowded on weekends/holidays - go early! 20-minute walk from entrance to beach ✔️ Route: South Beach → East Beach → Reef Coffee → Taiji Bay Beach → White Beach ✔️ Great sand play at South/East Beaches, photogenic spots at Reef Coffee, and the famous deadwood swing at Taiji Bay ✔️ Three free children's playgrounds: Ocean Park near entrance, plus one each near South and East Beaches 🏨 Accommodation: Stayed at a homestay near Songlan Mountain on second night Day3: Depart Xiangshan for Ningbo city → Chenghuang Temple Pedestrian Street → Lunch → Return to Shanghai ✅ Morning drive (1.5 hours) from Xiangshan to Ningbo's Chenghuang Temple Pedestrian Street ✅ Chenghuang Temple Pedestrian Street: Free. Great for shopping with many Instagrammable spots - you can photograph the iron tower from Magpie Bridge. Many snack options too - we had lunch there before returning to Shanghai.
