Embark on a summer journey: Xiamen family trip during the summer vacation

The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station, surrounded by numerous decades-old shops. Experiencing this local vibe is a must when visiting Xiamen. It’s also close to SM City Plaza, which is perfect for shopping if you didn’t bring many supplies. The plaza offers a wide variety of Xiamen specialties, but remember to compare prices to avoid overpaying. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, which the kids absolutely loved. At the hotel, we enjoyed activities like lacquer fan painting and trying on Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing). You can take photos yourself or have the hotel staff assist you. The lacquer fan activity was a big hit with the kids. Additionally, there’s a children’s playground with trampolines, supervised by staff, allowing parents to relax worry-free. ❣️ Morning flight: After arriving at Gaoqi International Airport, we contacted Xiamen Jingmin Central Hotel. If rooms are available, you can check in directly. After settling in, we rested and spent the afternoon enjoying Hanfu and lacquer fan activities at the hotel. ❣️ Day 1: We took the summer bus to Gulangyu Island. Be sure to book tickets in advance during the summer. Our ferry ticket was for 10:30 AM, and the hotel shuttle departed at 9:30 AM, giving us ample time to wait without feeling rushed. Once on Gulangyu Island, it’s the perfect spot for stunning photos, especially on the beach with the island in the background. We returned to the mainland around dinner time. Evening ferries are limited, so plan ahead for the return trip. ❣️ Day 2: We visited Xiamen University (Siming Campus). Advance reservations are a must! It’s best to schedule your visit according to the hotel’s shuttle timings to avoid arranging transportation yourself. Let the kids experience the academic atmosphere of Xiamen University. ❣️ Day 3: We explored Hulishan Fortress. The hotel conveniently sells tickets for this attraction. In the evening, we visited Jimei School Village, which has a lively atmosphere with people singing. On the way back to the hotel, we took the sea metro, which offers stunning sunset views in the afternoon—perfect for photos and social media posts. 🧡【Tips】: Be prepared for the sun in Xiamen. The weather in July and August is generally mild but can include occasional showers, so don’t forget to bring an umbrella. 🥯 Food: Must-try local dishes include Shacha noodles, salted rice, five-spice rolls, noodle soup, and jelly made from earthworms.
