ANdAZ Xiamen is a peaceful resort in the heart of the city. I visit Xiamen every year. I've stayed at the Seven Sages and Conrad, and this time I wanted to experience the Nanyang style of ANdAZ. The hotel shares a parking lot with Vientiane City. The L floor of the elevator is the ground floor (turn left out of the elevator to reach Vientiane City, which is great for shopping). You need to take the elevator to the hotel corridor and then take another elevator to the third floor lobby (the lobby staff are very friendly, but it was a weekend when I went and there were a lot of people, so check-in was slow. Some room types may require a 1-2 hour wait). We booked a scenic king room. The window overlooks the hotel entrance, outdoor pool, Vientiane City, and surrounding residences (the view is mainly of the city, so there's probably not much difference with a room without a view). The room has a large area of wooden flooring (some areas creak when you step on them) and wooden cabinets, and is covered with brightly colored carpets, giving it a strong Nanyang style. There's a free minibar. Guests can enjoy free afternoon tea on the third floor of the hotel. The pastries are small but exquisite and taste good. There are also many alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Breakfast is available for a long time and is decent. There are many restaurants outside the hotel entrance (Azhong Shifang is good), so it's also convenient to eat out. Overall, it's pretty good. If you have the chance to visit Xiamen, you can come and experience it.
