Sangke Grassland

Located 13 kilometers west of Xiahe County in Gannan Prefecture, you will find the vast and beautiful Sangke Grassland. Covering a total area of 850 square kilometers, with an altitude ranging between 3000 to 3200 meters, it is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The central grassland is flat and open, interspersed with a few shrubs. The Daxia River flows from south to north, with the northern edge of the riverbank being the reservoir of the Sangke Power Station. This area is lush with water and grass, and its scenery is elegant, making it one of the county's rich natural pastures. The vast grassland is silent in all directions, devoid of the hustle and bustle of a bustling city, and there are no densely packed villages in sight. However, its unique natural conditions provide an excellent habitat for the breeding and survival of wild animals, rare birds, and beneficial beasts, such as deer, yellow sheep, musk deer, blue sheep, marmots, and foxes. Sangke Grassland is a meadow grassland with an average altitude of over 3000 meters and a grassland area of 70 square kilometers. The terrain is gently undulating, vast and boundless, with lush water and grass, and fat cattle and sheep. It is the main livestock product base of Gannan Prefecture. In summer, the Sangke Grassland is covered with green grass, like a natural carpet spread to the horizon. Various wildflowers compete in beauty among the green, presenting a splendid and pleasing sight.
