When it comes to fall travel, Wuyuan is a must-see destination. Named the most beautiful village in China by National Geographic, Wuyuan is about to enter its most colorful season. In addition to Huangling, which was featured in National Geographic in 2018, Wuyuan is home to many ancient villages. After visiting Wuyuan six times, I've put together this fall travel guide for you. Just follow my lead! ⏰Best time to visit: Late November to mid-December. 📅Fall foliage calendar: 🌽Autumn harvest: Year-round. 🍅Persimmons: November to January. 🍁Maple leaves: November to December. 🌼Chrysanthemums: November to December. 🍂Ginkgo: December. 🚦Transportation: 🚄High-speed rail: Arrive at Wuyuan Station. 🚗Public transportation between villages is inconvenient, so we recommend renting a car or hiring a driver. Shuttle buses are available to Huangling and Wunvzhou. ▪️DAY 1: Departure → Likeng → Huangling, stay overnight in Huangling. ▪️DAY 2: Huangling → Shangtan Village → Longwei Village → Sanyan Bridge → Wunvzhou, stay overnight in Wunvzhou. ▪️DAY 3: Wunvzhou → Fengshan Village → Chaguan Village → Hongguan Village → Return. ✅Must-see attractions in Wuyuan: ✔️Likeng ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: White walls, black tiles, red lanterns, small bridges, and flowing water. A lively town. ✔️Huangling ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: The most famous village in Wuyuan, featured in National Geographic's list of the most beautiful villages. The autumn harvest in the mountains is like a painting. ✔️Shangtan Village ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Filming location for the movie "I Am Not Madame Bovary." You can take a bamboo raft under the big camphor tree at the entrance of the village. ✔️Longwei Village ⭐️⭐️⭐️: A small stream called "Longwei" flows through the village, creating a tranquil paradise. ✔️Sanyan Bridge ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Known as the "Little Xinjiang of Jiangxi," this ancient three-hole bridge stands quietly on the vast grassland, where cattle and sheep graze leisurely. ✔️Wunvzhou ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: A recreation of the Tang Dynasty's prosperity, Wunvzhou's night view is mesmerizing. Iron flowers, iron kettles, fireworks... all incredibly romantic. ✔️Fengshan Village ⭐️⭐️: Home to an ancient pagoda with a history of over 400 years, this is also the ancestral home of Jin Yong. ✔️Chaguan Village ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Named a classic ancient village in China by National Geographic, the village entrance features an ancient bridge from the Southern Song Dynasty. An old man leads a cow across, as if time has stood still. ✔️Hongguan Village ⭐️⭐️: A non-commercial ancient village with flowing streams. Home to a thousand-year-old camphor tree, it was famous for ink-making during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
