Summer Cravings for Sweet Soup at the Newly Opened Chinese Sweet Soup Shop in Huishan Ancient Town

"Fuyu Sweet Soup" isn't unfamiliar to me, as I've tried it in Yangzhou and Changzhou before. When I saw this shop while night touring Huishan Ancient Town, I decided to walk in and give it a try. Perhaps because it was close to closing time, they seemed quite generous with the ingredients. The shop's ambiance is honestly a bit "basic." Despite being in Huishan Ancient Town, due to space limitations, it doesn't have much of that "traditional ancient charm" - just simple decorations. However, it is indeed clean and refreshing, though the seating is somewhat cramped. Since all ingredients are freshly made daily, once sold out, they're gone - which certainly ensures freshness. Especially in the evening, many ingredients were no longer available, so choices were limited. 🍃 Slow-cooked Peach Gum with Loquat and Pear: The loquat and pear 🍐 seemed to be from sweet syrup cans 🥫. The lotus seeds and peach gum were house-stewed. The peach gum was soft and jelly-like, while both the loquat and pear were quite sweet. 🍃 White Fungus Grand Slam: White fungus serves as the base soup, with various small ingredients added as available. It wasn't overly sweet. The taro balls were delightfully chewy, and the candied lotus root was quite distinctive.
