Great Hiking Spot for Families | Wuxi Yangshan Volcanic Geological Park

| Wuxi Yangshan Volcanic Geological Park. This abandoned volcanic park, which is less than 200m high, is a good choice for hiking with kids. Parking on weekends is already lined up far away, passing by a beautiful and clear emerald lake, with the location set to Chaoyang Zen Temple. After passing through the temple, you can ascend the mountain from either side, and one path leads directly to all the cave entrances. The climb up the mountain is quick, taking just tens of minutes to reach the summit. The steps are quite narrow with handrails only on one side, and the volcanic rock caves are super photogenic. There's also a bat cave, which has been fenced off and I didn't dare to enter, and there are signs warning of falling rocks, so be cautious. If you take the same path for both ascent and descent, it can be done in a little over an hour. We chose a different path to descend, and halfway down we ended up on a rough trail, with severely worn steps, and a section without steps that was quite shaky. It goes through a forest, which can be a bit challenging with children. Many people were standing by the side on the weekend we went, hoping to get good photos, so it might be better to avoid weekends and head up the mountain early. Many guides talk about the Tyndall effect being photoshopped, so don't wait for it. There's a large lawn at the foot of the mountain where you can find a spot to camp and rest~
