Harbin Travel Plan

Full Harbin Trip This trip took place from December 11-20, 2024. Here's the itinerary: - **Day 1:** Travel with Sichuan Airlines. - **Day 2:** Early morning at 4 AM, check-in luggage and prepare to fly to Harbin. We chose accommodation near the train station since we needed to travel to Changbai Mountain early the next morning. The airport bus conveniently stops right in front of the hotel. Upon arrival, we checked in and went out to explore Sun Island, visited the frozen lake, and took photos with the giant Snowman. Then, we strolled along Zhongyang Street, had a meal, visited Saint Sophia Cathedral for photos, and bought additional winter gear at a specialized store with affordable prices and a wide selection. - **Day 3:** Booked a high-speed train to Changbai Mountain, a nearly 4-hour journey. Upon arrival, we experienced the atmosphere of traditional Korean culture as the area is home to original Korean residents. We also enjoyed authentic Korean food. - **Day 4:** The accommodation arranged transportation to Changbai Mountain. Note that advance booking is required, and the park only opens on certain days with good weather. If the park is closed, you can claim a full refund for the entrance fee. Luckily, the weather was clear during our visit, allowing us to see Tianchi Lake. Entrance fee: 225 yuan, bus ride to the lake: 80 yuan. The area is extremely cold and windy, with volcanic rock debris that can irritate the eyes. If you’re sensitive, bring ski goggles to protect your eyes. - **Day 5:** Took a bus to Snow Town, a 7-hour ride. Entrance fee: 130 yuan. Upon arrival, we searched for luggage storage, which costs 20 yuan per bag. Unfortunately, it was already dark, so we could only enjoy the lights. After storing our luggage, we visited the reindeer. To get up close, there’s an entrance fee of 50 yuan, which includes a tray of moss to feed them. Be cautious as the reindeer might jostle for food, causing you to fall. Later, we walked along the bridge to admire the mushroom-shaped rooftops of the village, had dinner, and prepared to take another bus to Snow Valley. We arrived at Snow Valley around 11 PM. - **Day 6:** Enjoyed snow activities like skiing, tubing, and banana boats. Then, we walked to the scenic viewpoint, which was stunning. There were tea shops and souvenir stores lined up. Highly recommend trying the tea here; it’s delicious, albeit pricier than in the city, but worth the taste. - **Day 7:** Took a 7 AM bus back to Harbin. Spent the day exploring, eating Russian food, and shopping for souvenirs on Zhongyang Street. - **Day 8:** A full day in Harbin. Visited a pharmaceutical factory with beautiful interiors, then explored the old town of Chinese Baroque, which is highly recommended for its beauty, food, and souvenirs. Ended the day at Qunli Music Park to see the giant Snowman. - **Day 9:** Traveled back and flew to Shanghai with Juneyao Airlines. Upon arrival, strolled around the city and enjoyed the lights at The Bund. - **Day 10:** Returned to Thailand. This 10-day trip was incredibly fun, offering a mix of urban, rural, snowy landscapes, and vibrant city lights.
