Wat Muang: A Beautiful Temple in Ang Thong

Wat Muang is located in Hua Saphan Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province. It houses the Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin Sakayamuni Sri Wiset Chai Chan, constructed from reinforced concrete beams in a multi-story building structure, approximately 32 stories high. The entire statue is covered in golden plaster, making it arguably the largest Buddha statue in the world. The temple's ordination hall is equally magnificent, featuring the world's largest stucco lotus petals surrounding it. Inside the hall, there are murals depicting the life of the Buddha. Around the temple grounds, there are stucco statues of Arahants and various deities, both Chinese and Brahmin. Notably, there is also a replica of heaven and hell to impart moral lessons, as well as significant events from the Bang Rachan camp for tourists to explore.
