Wilton House

. 🪴 Wilton House is very close to Salisbury, within a 10-minute drive, and has been the residence of the Earl of Pembroke for over 450 years. Today, the 18th Earl of Pembroke still lives here. Since the 17th Earl, a restoration plan for the building has been initiated and continues to this day, with the dining room and corridor winning the Sotheby's Restoration Award. . 🪴 Over the years, it has been a popular filming location for movies and TV shows, with over 35 films and TV shows shot here, including "Emma," "The Crown," "Pride and Prejudice," "Sense and Sensibility," and more. . 🪴 The main house of the estate consists of seven state rooms, with the Cube Room being the most important part (Figure 1️⃣), designed by the famous architect John Webb for royal visits. The hall is richly gilded and elegantly furnished, with gilded furniture by the famous craftsman Thomas Chippendale, and the ceiling and family portraits painted by famous painters of the time. The outdoor garden is even more beautiful (Figures 2️⃣3️⃣), but unfortunately, it was pouring rain on the day of the visit, so there are no more photos.
