Wat Fa Wiang In

Wat Fa Wiang In is a temple of two lands on a hill. One hill is home to the golden pagoda “Marachina Chedi” which is on the Thai side. The other hill is home to the old chapel which is in Burma. The interior of the temple is built in the Tai Yai style, such as the golden Phra That Marachina Chedi, which means the pagoda that defeated Mara, or in the Tai Yai language, Kong Mu Laen Lin, which means the border pagoda. Under the base of this pagoda is the inscription Phra That Marachina Chedi in the Tai Yai language, telling the story of the first construction of the temple.
