Wenzhou Daluo Mountain

Daluo Mountain is located at the core of the metropolitan area of Wenzhou, Zhejiang, with the highest altitude of 707.4 meters and a total area of 117 square kilometers. It controls the East China Sea, locks the Oujiang River, and overlooks the entire city, serving as an important ecological barrier for Wenzhou. Daluo Mountain boasts rich ecological resources, natural resources, tourism resources, and historical and cultural resources, with more than 500 natural and cultural attractions. These are part of the two provincial-level scenic spots of Xianyan and Yaoxi, and the two municipal-level scenic spots of Chashan and Tianzhu. Daluo Mountain integrates Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and is known as the "26th Blessed Land under Heaven." Historically, it was said to have "seventy-two temples and thirty-six hermitages," with numerous academies. It was a place for Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist believers or aristocrats to retreat, cultivate themselves, practice health preservation, teach, and write. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Chen Fuliang established the Xianyan Academy on the western slope of Daluo Mountain, nurturing the Yongjia School, one of the three major schools that stood alongside the schools founded by Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan at the time.
