Navigation: Longchi National Forest Park (there is a parking lot near the destination) Admission: Free Parking fee: Free (there was no charge yesterday, but it might be 20 on weekends) Recommended Reason The closest high mountain rhododendrons to Chengdu are in full bloom, with over 400 varieties, including purple, pink, white, and the rare yellow, all blooming together. Cameras can't capture the beauty of the rhododendron forest; you have to be there to see it for yourself. The scenery along the way in Longchi National Forest Park is stunning, with a wide view from halfway up the mountain. The hiking trail includes roads, dirt paths, stone steps, forest trails, and wooden plank paths, offering a great experience. The hiking difficulty is moderate. The round trip to the rhododendron forest via the forest trail is 9.5KM. This time it took 2.5H to go up the mountain and 1.5H to come down (including time reserved for enjoying and photographing the rhododendrons). Along the hike, there are many snow bud vegetables and ferns, so if you plan to forage, remember to bring a big bag, or you won't be able to carry everything. Transportation: 1.5H from Chengdu, take the highway to the provincial road, the last 3 kilometers to the entrance of Longchi scenic area are extremely rough, and sedans need to drive slowly to avoid potholes. Meals: It is recommended to bring your own food for the hike (there are vendors selling snacks in the rhododendron forest, and there is no cell phone signal at the mountain top, so bring cash).
