Weihai is a quiet city situated on the tip of the Shandong peninsular. If you are seeking a relaxing trip away from the maddening crowds then I suggest a weekend here. Although the city lacks the facilities of the giant metropolises all over China, it does still have a vibrant CBD that will keep your attention for a day or two as you wonder around the bustling alleys and modern malls. Throughout the city the streets are clean and the pretty public gardens are well-maintained. But the main attraction is the coastline which stretches around hills that surround the city. Unlike many other Chinese cities, the coastline is still relatively unspoilt. One should take a hike along the paths along the hills and beaches to admire the Chinese coastline in its natural state. I advise anyone to take a trip there in summer when the city can show off it's flowers and greenery.
