Blue House Cluster: A Representation of Old Hong Kong Culture

The Blue House Cluster consists of a group of traditional residential buildings and serves as an excellent place to explore the culture of old Hong Kong. Constructed in 1922, the Blue House is memorable for its distinctive blue hue, which has helped preserve this characteristic architecture. The units in the Blue House feature spacious balconies, reflecting the architectural style of Lingnan, and have been used in the past for various purposes such as martial arts schools, medical halls, and free schools. The neighboring old residences—the Yellow House and the Orange House—share a similar fate. During my visit to the 'Hong Kong House of Stories,' I learned about the life of Hong Kong in bygone days. There were staff on hand to provide detailed explanations, and many interactive activities for children to experience. The children were engrossed, making it a great family activity and destination.
