The splendour of mountains

#myhiddengems Although i had been to Slovakia twice in the past. I never really alloted it a lot of time. This time around my shorter trip largely focused on Slovakia. There were things I had heard about places but the logistics and time never allowed. But not this time. So, the tatras mountains spa across Slovakia and Poland. The hike has several options and since mine was planned I ensured I came when most number of trails were open. This was almost end of September. Clearly from the number of hikers I saw around. It is safe to say that the popularity of tatras has steadily grown over the years. Same could be said about Slovakia. Yet, it won't be as crowded as other popular hiking destinations in europe. Since I hadn't heard about very favourable feedback for doing this from Poland. I decided to stick with Slovakia. This being the less crowded and less touristy part of tatras. Things take longer and figuring out. You have several options among small towns to pick as your base. It's definitely the more serene and peaceful options. Less tourists around and so easy come and go with the cable car. With these cable cars a great deal of climbing is saved. Even for people new at this, it is quite doable.
