The national gallery of Victoria

#australiatrip The national gallery of Victoria has a lovely array of modern contemporary art, each room is a pure delight. I love renaissance art or art from around that period so this place challenged me in ways that were both good and bad. I really enjoyed viewing art in the modern area from a different country, the context is completely different from European art. I came here to learn more about Australia, to learn more about the aborigines, the Europeans that settled in Australia. Art is a great way to learn, inform, expose certain things about a community and I felt that I understood Australia a bit better than I did before.
