A Planet Legacy of Marqueissac

On a high mountain, the famous Jardins de Marqueissac Gardens are spread out, which are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Aquitaine, France and even the planet. This place is unique! The Marquessac Hanging Gardens in the province of Perigord (New Aquitaine) are included in the prestigious list of "Outstanding Gardens of France". They are located on the territory of a private castle, at an altitude of 130 meters above the valley of the Dordogne River. In the 17th century, a family of wealthy French farmers acquired several hectares on the mountain. At an altitude of one hundred and thirty meters, an estate was laid out and a park was laid out, which occupied then and now occupies no less than 22 hectares. But the park gained its fame two centuries later, when a new owner appeared — the French diplomat Julien Bessier. At the beginning of the 19th century, more than 150 thousand boxwood trees were planted in the garden, which now attract tourists from all over the world. This real miracle of topiary art is supported by several gardeners, and all this is paid for by the descendants of J. Bessier, who still live in the house (in fact, this is a real palace, albeit small). Part of the house-palace is now a museum, where the interiors of the early 19th century are preserved. From the entrance, you can either go directly to the gardens, or take a look at the tour, it goes non-stop. A fairy tale, a miracle, luxury, wow....all words will at times understate the state that overwhelms this magical mountain. This is the case when reality exceeds expectations at times! It feels like you're inside a magic box upholstered in green velvet.
