I wandered the cobbled streets of Piazza delle Erbe, once a Roman forum and now a bustling market square, surrounded by frescoed buildings and lively cafés. What truly captivated me was the Arena di Verona, a massive Roman amphitheater still in use today for opera performances. Attending a live opera under the stars in a 2,000-year-old arena is an experience I’ll never forget—it gave me chills in the best way. The Adige River wraps around the city, creating scenic bridges and perfect sunset views. I highly recommend walking across Ponte Pietra and climbing up to Castel San Pietro. The panoramic view of the terracotta rooftops and winding river is magical, especially at dusk. Best Time to Visit: Spring (April–June) or early autumn (September–October) for mild weather, fewer crowds, and open-air events. Summer is great if you’re attending the opera festival, but it gets busy! Travel Tips: Try local specialties like risotto all'Amarone or horse meat stew if you’re adventurous.
