Where to go skiing in winter?

Open since 1939, Rosa Alpina, located in the charming village of San Cassiano, provides a base for exploring Italy's magnificent UNESCO-protected Dolomites. Following an extensive renovation, the beloved Dolomites hotel will reopen in 2025 as Aman Rosa Alpina, with the Pizzinini family continuing at the helm. It is located in the small town of San Cassiano in the Dolomites, a World Natural Heritage Site: with its overlapping peaks and crystal clear lakes, it will become Aman's fourteenth hotel located in the World Natural Heritage Site. Rosa Alpina, close to the magnificent ski resort of the Dolomites, is a holiday resort for ski enthusiasts. In summer and autumn, travelers can explore the beautiful valley by hiking or cycling, or have the wonderful experience of climbing steep rock walls. In addition to the rich outdoor experience, travelers can also go to the hotel’s three-star Michelin restaurant to embark on an Italian gourmet journey. The hotel has a classic and elegant design and the windows open to panoramic views of the Dolomites. In addition, the hotel also has a spa, indoor swimming pool, gym and Turkish bath, presenting Aman's unique quiet resting space. This is where the filming of "Solo: A Star Wars Story" was filmed. December to April is the ski season here, which is also the hotel's winter operating season. There are more than 100 kilometers of Alpine ski trails and 35 kilometers of Nordic ski trails, creating truly excellent conditions for mountain skiing and snowboarding. For experienced skiers, there is a black diamond ski run, Forcella Rossa. The ski slope is located at the foot of Mount Tovana. The entrance is a cave carved out of the mountain rock. Through here you can overlook the town of Cortina, which is a great place to stop and watch. With pure air, picturesque scenery and a variety of activities available all year round, Rosa Alpina is an ideal base for exploring from June to October.
