The main square, Piazza della Libertà, is beautiful with its Venetian-style architecture and the Loggia del Lionello. I climbed up to the Castello di Udine, which costs around €7 to enter. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire city and the surrounding mountains—well worth the visit! Inside the castle, there’s a museum with art and historical artifacts, giving you a deeper understanding of the region’s rich past. Afterward, I wandered around the quiet streets, stopping at local cafes for a spritz and some delicious prosciutto. Nearby, you can visit the charming town of Cividale del Friuli or take a drive to the wine country of Collio for some wine tasting.
