Superb Petrified Wood Themed Restaurant

As a food enthusiast in Tsuen Wan, I often search for new dining spots in the area and share the good ones with fellow foodies. Nina Park, the largest petrified wood park in Asia, is a new attraction in Tsuen Wan. Next to the park, a new restaurant called Parkside has opened, and I want to share my experience with you. Sharing the same entrance as NOC, the front part of the venue is a coffee shop, while the back is Parkside. The decor here is stunning, especially for Tsuen Wan, and is unparalleled. There is also an outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal next to the park. However, with temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, it's wiser to sit indoors with air conditioning. When you're hot and sweaty, a cold drink is the most practical choice. Fossil Flurry is the restaurant's signature drink, designed to match the petrified wood park theme. Made with Oreo, cream, and milk, it's quite filling. Instead of worrying about what to eat, why not go for the tasting menu? The Italian beef carpaccio is exquisitely presented, tender, and pairs perfectly with the spicy arugula. Years ago, I tried Sichuan spicy watermelon at a modern Chinese restaurant, and it was unexpectedly excellent. Nowadays, there's no need to strictly categorize cuisines, as you can find this delightful dish here too. The refreshing and juicy watermelon, infused with the numbing aroma of Sichuan pepper oil, is a long-missed taste. There were two soups available that night. The Hokkaido corn and potato soup is a safe choice. However, I was eager to try the chef's new creation, the laksa foam soup. It has a rich flavor, with the spiciness kicking in later, making it quite interesting! The dry-cured ham and mushroom pizza has a crispy crust, and the combination of ham, mushrooms, and arugula is hard to go wrong with. The prawn roll pasta may seem ordinary, but the chef used red wine lees for seasoning, giving it a taste reminiscent of Shaoxing wine, surprisingly harmonious with the Western-style pasta. The roast chicken is tender with crispy skin, not too dry, even the breast meat. The highlight is the flavorful Piri Piri sauce, which elevates the dish. The freshly fried fries on the side are naturally not soggy. For desserts, there are two options: the date caramel pudding, which is not as sweet as expected, and the special petrified wood chocolate cake, designed specifically for the park. Restaurant Information: Parkside @ Nina Shop 201, 2/F, Nina Tower Phase 1, 8 Yeung Uk Road, Tsuen Wan
