Trondheim – Norway’s Historic Heart

Trondheim is a city that perfectly combines history, student life, and charm. The star of the city is Nidaros Cathedral, the largest medieval cathedral in Scandinavia – its gothic architecture gave me goosebumps. Walking through Bakklandet, the old town with its wooden houses, cobblestone streets, and cozy cafés, felt like stepping back in time. I also visited the Old Town Bridge, nicknamed “The Gate of Happiness,” and it truly lived up to its name – the view of colorful houses along the Nidelva River was stunning. Trondheim has a lively atmosphere thanks to its big student population, so I found lots of fun coffee shops, bookshops, and music bars. What I loved most was how walkable and friendly it felt. Trondheim is a city that gives you both history and a youthful vibe, all surrounded by Norway’s natural beauty.
