The wind on the bridge is fierce, and passing cars kick up waves of dust—truly a tough experience! 🥲 📍Arctic Cathedral (Photo 13) We only took photos outside and didn’t go inside. 📍Fjellheisen Cable Car (Photos 1, 14) 🎫 Round trip NOK 545/person (same price via staff, vending machines, or official website) 🔹 Check Google before heading out to see if it’s open (it closes during strong winds). It’s best to queue for the cable car an hour before sunset! The crowd is massive, with about a quarter being Chinese tourists 🤣. Although we queued for half an hour and missed the sunset, the sky remains bright for a while after sunset, so you can still catch the blue hour. 🔹 On the mountain, you’ll hear mostly Mandarin—it’s hard to tell if you’re in Northeast China, Changbai Mountain, or Norway 🤣. 🔹 The viewing area has no railings, and it’s directly a cliff below—be cautious! On the other side of the city view is a slope; we wandered around until it got dark, took the cable car down, and luckily caught the bus (the next one would’ve been a 20-minute wait). Feeling fortunate! 💙 ⚠️ The wind on the mountain is extremely strong and cold—dress warmly! Hats and gloves are essential! 📍World’s Smallest Bar & Northernmost McDonald’s (Photos 15, 16) Located on the main street in the city center—worth a quick stop for photos. 📍Prestvannet Lake The bus from the airport to the city passes by this lake. A walk along the lakeside is a pleasant activity, though we didn’t have time to visit. In winter, ice cleats are recommended. 🦮 Dog Sledding & 🎆 Northern Lights Tours The temperature hovered above 0°C that week, melting all the snow on the ground. Additionally, the cloud cover was 100% every night 🙂, so we didn’t book any tours. If you plan to join, budget around NOK 1500 per person per activity.
