Pu Yuan Ancient Town: Impossible to Explore in Just One Day

👀 Known to be three times the size of Wuzhen, it took us a full eight hours to cover only half of Pu Yuan Ancient Town! However, we meticulously visited and photographed all the major attractions, the town not only features the quaint bridges and gentle streams typical of southern Chinese towns but also boasts grand Tang and Song dynasty architecture with a rich historical charm! 💁 Here's the route we took: 🗺 Beigeng Tower → White Iron Shop → Bamboo Craft Lane → Contemporary Hat Museum → Xianzi Beach Inn → Guanwang Temple → Pu Merchant Hall & Pu Warehouse → Wool Museum → Shuangfang Zen Garden → Yue Family Scholars' Residence → Tile House → Song Banquet → Fushan Temple → Pu Shilang Dock → Tourist Center 📍 Beigeng Tower Climb the ancient city wall and Beigeng Tower to overlook the entire scenic area and even take a photo with the Fushan Pagoda! There's a sound museum downstairs where you can get a stamp and enjoy various interactive activities! 📍 White Iron Shop Displays of various iron art toys and retro toys, all at beautiful prices! 📍 Bamboo Craft Lane Like a bamboo art intangible cultural heritage museum, with various bamboo dragonflies, mantises, and other small animal ornaments, as well as gourds and other bamboo craft cultural heritage, very interesting! 📍 Contemporary Hat Museum A variety of modern and retro hats, various crafts and materials, and the building itself is also very beautiful! 📍 Xianzi Beach Inn An antique courtyard, with a pigeon square at the entrance where you can feed pigeons, pigeon food costs ten yuan a bag (a bit expensive, you can bring some corn) 📍 Guanwang Temple Built over water, very special! Remember to go to the basement to watch the light show, truly splendid! 📍 Wool Museum Visit and listen to the history of wool, play house with food made of wool, and create various handicrafts! 📍 Yue Family Scholars' Residence Watch a puppet show (free of charge) (check the town's program schedule), with puppet tea performances, Nezha's Troubles in the Sea and Ji Gong, where kids can shake hands with Ji Gong! 📍 Shuangfang Zen Garden Describing it as a 'fairyland' couldn't be more appropriate, with pavilions, ethereal atmosphere, birdsong, and fragrant flowers, simply wonderful! You can also enjoy exquisite afternoon tea in the teahouse, but reservations are needed! 📍 Tile House Teahouse Listen to storytelling (free) 'Three Jumps' in Tongxiang local dialect, understandable by visitors from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, many who don't understand leave early ~ 📍 Song Banquet Neighborhood show stage with ancient style performances, half an hour of watching anciently dressed beauties dance 📍 Fushan Temple 🐉 A large layout surrounded by water on all sides, cross the Xianghua Bridge → enter the mountain gate hall → rear Heavenly King Hall → Thousand Buddha Pavilion → Great Compassion Pavilion → Great Buddha Hall, the solemnity of Buddhism naturally arises, especially beautiful at sunset! ✨ Fushan Pagoda is the commanding height of the ancient town, with an elevator inside, you can go up to visit without reservation! 🌲 Two ancient ginkgo trees from the Southern Song Dynasty, 897 years old, echo each other, exuding a Buddhist charm! 👆 It's recommended to walk around first and then take a boat tour at the end, the perspective is different when sitting on the boat in the evening or at night, offering a unique charm! 📷 Wandering in Pu Yuan Ancient Town is like stepping into the 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival', experiencing the culture and prosperity of the ancient town, making one linger and forget to return! 💰 It's recommended to buy a package ticket online, more cost-effective! 💁 Adult ticket is 108 yuan, including the main ticket and boat ride 👦 Children's ticket is 30 yuan, half-price for the boat (free for those under 120cm) 🌿 Scenic area facilities: 🏘 Accommodation: Pu Yuan Pu Jin Hotel, Shilang Inn, Xi Yuan Mansion, Xianzi Beach Inn, and more 🥡 Dining: Pu Ji Dessert Shop, Song Banquet, Qi Fu Ramen, Song Cake Song Pastry, and more 🚙 The parking lot is large, 10 yuan for up to six hours! 🚌 There's also a bus station at the entrance of the scenic area, connecting high-speed rail passengers!
