[Gunma Prefecture/Nukisaki Shrine] One of Japan's three major shrines

I visited Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine, the prestigious Ichinomiya of Kozuke Province. The shrine sign appeared in the middle of a peaceful landscape. As I left the approach to the shrine, which was an uphill path, I saw the torii gate. When you go to a shrine, you usually go up a flight of stone steps, but it's strange to see the shrine building below your eye level. It's a rare downward-facing shrine. The main hall and worship hall are brilliantly colored. Not to be missed are the small thunder god window and lion on the gable of the main hall. I found myself captivated by the architecture unique to Nukisaki Shrine. It was a very interesting shrine! ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ❁ ❁ ❁┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ❥❥History The shrine was founded when the Mononobe clan Isobe clan enshrined their clan deity, Futsunushi-no-kami. The shrine was established in its current location during the reign of Emperor Ankan (531). In 1635, the third shogun of the Edo shogunate, Tokugawa Iemitsu, ordered the construction of the main hall, worship hall, tower gate, and corridor.
