Lost in a thousand-year landscape, Toledo

#July Travel Support Fund An hour by train from Madrid. The ancient city of **Toledo**, perched on a hill, was a huge museum in itself. The moment the outline of the city was revealed along the castle walls, I felt like I had already entered the past. My first step was to Toledo Cathedral. The essence of Gothic, the stone arches and the spires reaching up to the sky, and the light of the stained glass that colored the interior. Every step, every breath was a moment of reverence. The road continued from the cathedral to Plaza Mayor, the Alcazar, and **the Jewish Quarter (Judería)**. Traces of various religions coexisting in each winding alleyway remained, and time still flowed slowly in the narrow alleyways. If you walk across the river, you will come across the San Martin Bridge and the Tagus River (Río Tajo). The view of the cliff city seen from the bridge was more impressive than any painting. Losing time here felt like a privilege. #ToledoTravel #Toledo
