Love Jonathan's
This family-friendly restaurant in Tokyo offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families and those looking for a comfortable place to sit. The menu offers a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, as well as desserts, at reasonable prices.
The Japanese set menu is perfect for those who enjoy healthy Japanese food. The flavors are not too strong, yet satisfying. The grilled salmon is tender and not too fatty. The hot miso soup adds a warming touch, and the side dishes help cut through the richness. Overall, the price is good value for a light meal in the casual atmosphere of Jonathan's.
• Grilled salmon served with grated daikon ori (daikon ori) and shiso leaves. The aroma is mild and the flavor emphasizes the natural flavor of the fish.
• Japanese steamed rice, cooked to perfection.
• Miso soup with seaweed and spring onions, with a subtle miso aroma.
• Side dishes include shredded carrots, seasoned seaweed, and pickled lotus root, adding a slight sweet and sour flavor.
• Dried seaweed for wrapping rice or eating with salmon.

HIE JINJA.
Hie Shrine (Hie Jinja), also known as Sannō-sama, is a historic Shinto shrine. Established in 1141, it is dedicated to the deity Sannō Gongen (Oyamakui no Kami), revered as the protector of mountains and a guardian of the region.
Hie Shrine is renowned for hosting the annual Takayama Spring Festival on April 14–15. This event features ornate floats (yatai) adorned with mechanical dolls (karakuri ningyō), paraded through the streets in a vibrant celebration of spring.
A prominent feature of the shrine is a majestic cedar tree over 1,000 years old, standing as a natural monument and symbolizing the shrine's deep-rooted history.

🇯🇵 A collection of must-take photos when traveling to Japan📸✨
"All you wanna-take-the-photographers, gather around! Don't miss out on Japan💕"
Japan is truly beautiful no matter where you take photos,
but here are some must-see themes! 📷
⸻
👘 1. Kimono Shot
Rent a kimono and take a photo with a traditional street background in Kyoto (Kiyomizu-dera, Gion), Asakusa (Sensoji), and other locations! ✨
Kimono + traditional architecture = a guaranteed great shot!
🚃 2. Train Shot
Enoden, Hakone, subway transfers, Yamanote Line, etc.
Even moments taken while riding a train, looking out the window or on the platform, will make you feel like you're on vacation! Kamakura Station + Enoden is especially great for its retro vibe💚
🗼 3. Tower Shot
Tokyo Tower (red), Skytree (blue), and even Sapporo TV Tower!
Picture the towers illuminated at night for the perfect nighttime shot💫
⛩️ 4. Shrine Shot
Fushimi Inari Shrine (red torii), Sensoji Temple, etc.
A front or back shot from under a torii is a must!
Bag + kimono + slightly turned head shot is perfect🔥
🍣 5. Food Shot
Conveyor belt sushi, izakaya, convenience store bento boxes, street takoyaki, etc.
Don't forget to take pictures of food too! 🍡 Tsukemen, soba, melon bread, and green tea desserts are a must-have!
🌸🍁 6. Cherry Blossom/Autumn Leaves Shot
Nakameguro / Ueno Park for cherry blossom season. Kyoto Arashiyama / Nikko for autumn foliage season!
Incorporate landscapes and people for postcard-perfect shots. 📮
🌇 7. Sunset Shot
Odaiba Beach / Tanbo Promenade / Mt. Fuji sunsets, etc.
Japan is truly beautiful at sunset. 🥹
Back-facing shots by a lake or ocean are also popular!

🇯🇵Shinjuku's hidden gem food paradise: Yoyogi Shopping Street
I'm not talking about Yoyogi Park, the trendy, niche shopping destination. I'm talking about the vibrant foodie paradise just beyond JR Yoyogi Station, where young people gather for a few drinks as night falls. 😋
🍜From where I stayed this time, heading towards Yoyogi, it's less than 10 minutes away, and you'll find the JR station, where the crowds begin to gather. The Yamanote Line trains pass on the elevated tracks, and at first I thought I was off the beaten path, but a glimpse of the Japanese Communist Party headquarters building in the background revealed a charming, down-to-earth camera angle. 🥰
🍻My biggest concern during the trip was the food. There was a wide variety, from various ramen styles to katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowls), izakayas, and international cuisine. What was even more surprising was the alleyway to "Yoyogi Broadway," where you can find trendy bistros like a horse meat specialty shop, 😆 yakitori restaurants, fresh fish shops, Italian wine tastings, and more!
💯Because this time I was exploring during the late night, I didn't have room for a big meal after dinner. But it will definitely be a must-try when I return to Tokyo next time I travel. I will come here specifically for dinner and late night drinks. I recommend it👍
6 Location Tokyo ⛩️
🎏 Shinjuku
Let's start with Shinjuku, a district that never sleeps. It's a hub of restaurants and shopping, and it's filled with bright lights. We recommend visiting at night for the spectacular light and sound effects. It's a popular spot, a favorite among tourists.
Don't-miss check-in spots: Giant 3D Cat, Godzilla building (located near Donki, you can pin it on the map).
🎏 Sensoji Temple
Located in the Asakusa district, this temple is incredibly popular when visiting Tokyo. Otherwise, it's considered a complete no-go. The path to the temple is lined with shops and restaurants, making it just as bustling as anywhere else.
🎏 Ueno
This area is incredibly large and vibrant, and it's our favorite shopping area. It's packed with shops, restaurants, snacks, fresh fruit, and more. Unlike other areas, the prices are cheaper, and there's also a large park to stroll around.
Don't-miss check-in spots: If you're visiting during the cherry blossom season, we recommend taking a stroll through the park to admire its beauty.
🎏 Ginza
Design-lovers will definitely love this area. Mitsukoshi Ginza, in particular, is famous for its luxury brand shopping. All the brands are gathered in this building, and the prices are better than anywhere else. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service.
🎏 Shibuya
A large, popular area with a variety of restaurants, shopping, and famous brands. It's bustling with Japanese people and tourists all day long.
Don't miss this check-in spot: You must cross the street at Shibuya Crossing. Otherwise, it's like you haven't even arrived.
🎏 Tokyo Tower
It's considered a symbol of Tokyo.

World's First Pokémon Theme Park Arrives in Tokyo
Attention, Pokémon fans! The world’s first permanent Pokémon theme park, PokéPark KANTO, will officially open in spring 2026 at Yomiuriland in Tokyo. The park will recreate the natural habitats of over 600 Pokémon species, creating a world where Pokémon and their trainers coexist, and offering visitors an authentic experience of the Kanto region’s ecosystem. Let us take an exclusive look at the park’s highlights.
🪄Two primary themed zones allow visitors to assume the role of trainers and interact with Pokémon
Located within Yomiuriland in the suburbs of Tokyo, PokéPark KANTO covers an area of 26,000 square meters—roughly equivalent to 3.6 soccer fields. The park is divided into two areas, Pokémon Forest and Caosha Town, which offer distinct experiences of outdoor adventure and daily life as a Pokémon trainer. The design emphasizes an immersive encounter with Pokémon in a setting that closely mirrors their natural habitat rather than relying solely on amusement rides.
🌳Pokémon Forest: a 500-meter exploration trail in search of Pokémon
This area features an exploration trail approximately 500 meters in length that replicates natural scenes from the original works, including grasslands, valleys, tunnels, and undulating mountain roads. It allows visitors to get as close as possible to the natural environment of Pokémon, making trainers feel as though they have stepped into an animated series or video game. Guests may wander among the trees to observe Pokémon in their natural routines—some so large that they require one to look upward to appreciate their full form, while others hide among foliage and caves, waiting to be discovered.
🛒Caosha Town: a haven for trainers seeking shopping and entertainment
Caosha Town is designed to evoke the town life of the Pokémon world and features classic venues such as a Pokémon Center, various shops, and a trainers’ market, providing guests with an authentic taste of a trainer’s daily life. At the heart of the town lies a fountain plaza themed on the Western Lion Sea King, which serves as its landmark. In addition to shopping facilities, Caosha Town will also offer two amusement attractions, Pokémon meet-and-greet sessions, parade performances, and a gym where trainers can participate in interactive challenges.

📍March, a trip to Tokyo following the spring breeze
At the end of March, I took a short trip to Tokyo, Japan. As cherry blossoms began to bloom, the city was vibrant, and each space, each boasting its own unique charm, left a lasting impression.
🗻 Fujiyoshida Honcho 2-chome, a street bordering Mt. Fuji
The sight of Mt. Fuji towering majestically behind a quiet shopping street was truly impressive. Perhaps because of the good weather, the view was clear, and the scenery, captured alongside the small details of everyday life, was enough to evoke a sense of Japanese sentiment.
📸 Mt. Fuji as seen from Honcho Street
🌸 teamLab Planets — An immersive space that feels like walking through a world of flowers
As soon as you enter the exhibition hall, a fantastical world of flowers unfolds before your eyes. The infinite flower garden, reflected on the mirrored floor, was so captivating that it was impossible to capture it all in a photograph. The harmony of flowers and light made it impossible to lose track of time.
📸 A moment when flowers and I felt like one.
🌃 Roppongi Hills Observatory — Tokyo's lights adorning the night sky
The moment I gazed down upon the Tokyo nightscape after sunset. The dense buildings, endless lights, and Tokyo Tower quietly asserting its presence were breathtaking. Tokyo at night speaks for itself.
📸 Tokyo at night, seen through a window
🌆 Shinjuku Kabukicho — Tokyo's neon heart
A street filled with neon signs, vibrant people, and an exotic atmosphere. Kabukicho was even more captivating at night than during the day. Standing in front of buildings lined with signs like GG Poker and SHISHA BAR, I felt the energy of Tokyo with my whole body.
📸 Dazzling lights in the heart of Shinjuku
🥩 Riviera Steakhouse — A Mecca for Pro Wrestlers
Rivera Steakhouse in Meguro, Tokyo. The walls are lined with photos and autographs of wrestlers, and the steaks are thick. From the atmosphere to the food, it was a special meal. If you love meat, I highly recommend this place.
📸 Riviera Steakhouse exterior
🇯🇵Delicious traditional Japanese breakfast at "Kissaya" in Shinjuku
When I stay in the city, I usually don't order breakfast. I prefer to wake up early and explore the alleyways for the most authentic flavors. Although it's a chain, I've heard there are over ten locations in Shinjuku. 😳 Each location has a slightly different size and atmosphere, but the most important thing is that the food is delicious. 😋
💫 The restaurant is spacious, with a strict separation between non-smoking and smoking areas. It has a nostalgic feel, but the staff are also friendly and helpful with taking photos.
"Morning Breakfast / S Set / Iced Coffee / 1,100 yen"
💫 I chose the most luxurious sandwich: it came with teriyaki chicken, cheese, potato salad, tomato, and lettuce. It was a generous portion with a perfect balance of meat and vegetables, and I devoured it instantly. The yogurt was drizzled with rich blueberry sauce and served with a bowl of hot clear soup. I just couldn't understand why!
💫The ham and egg toast combo with coffee for 150 yen is a great deal. The sandwich was perfectly toasted, and even though it's just a thin slice of ham, it has just the right amount of aroma and saltiness. Why should we eat at a buffet for breakfast? 🤣
📍Near Shinjuku West Exit Exit 7, or turn right after exiting Toei Subway Shinjuku Sanchome Station Exit E3. It's on the corner on the 2nd floor.

Truffle Bakery Tokyo
Truffle Bakery Tokyo is a renowned bakery known for its signature "Truffle Salt Bread," a must-try item that anyone visiting Tokyo will find lining up for! This bread has extra-soft, fluffy dough and a fragrant aroma of butter and white truffle. The crust is sprinkled with salt and then spread with their signature truffle butter. The flavor is well-balanced, with just the right amount of saltiness and richness, and the distinct truffle aroma is intense and mellow with every bite. Limited quantities per person, as it sells so well (usually only 3-5 pieces per person). Perfect with coffee or to take home and heat up for an extra level of deliciousness.
In addition to the salt bread, they also offer specialty items like croissants, cream puffs, and truffle egg sandwiches, all featuring the aroma of real truffle. The shop's warm atmosphere makes it a must-try. There are several branches throughout Tokyo, but the most popular are the Hiroo and Tokyo Station locations. Visit in the morning or late afternoon for freshly baked bread. For those who love soft, fluffy, fragrant, and melt-in-your-mouth bread, this is a must-try.

Nakameguro Area - Tokyo
Nakameguro, Tokyo's chicest district, offers a relaxing stroll along the Meguro River, adorned with cherry blossoms on both banks. It's especially beautiful in spring, but still enjoyable year-round. Along the route, you'll find charming cafes, boutiques, and restaurants, including the beautiful Starbucks Reserve Roastery, located right on the river. Under the train tracks, you'll find Nakameguro Koukashita, filled with chic little shops and art galleries. The narrow alleys along the riverside offer shops selling clothing, bags, and handmade design goods. Beyond the chic shops, you'll also find Nakameguro Park, a place to relax.
