A HIDDEN MICHELIN STAR RESTAURANT IN TOKYO.
L’Effervescence is an extraordinary dining experience.
This three-Michelin-starred restaurant masterfully blends Japanese precision with French elegance, creating dishes that are both innovative and deeply rooted in seasonal flavors.
Every course is a testament to the chef’s artistry, showcasing beautifully composed plates with the finest farm-to-table ingredients.
The flavors are delicate yet bold, with a perfect balance of tradition and modern creativity. The service is impeccable—gracious, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without being intrusive. From start to finish, L’Effervescence delivers a truly unforgettable culinary journey.
A must-visit for anyone seeking world-class dining in Tokyo.
AN EXQUISITE FINE DINING EXPERIENCE.
Ordered a three course lunch set with wine pairing and the staff were very nice in explaining dish by dish.
We were given a window seat I think it is because of reservation by the view was great.
The signature salad was so pretty and delicious. Ate the plate clean.
Everything in the menu was great and well thought of, the flavours were all harmonious.
Would recommend and would be back.
A SAFE GUESTHOUSE.
A budget friendly place to stay.
We had the 2 beds room with tatami mats, no TV, a decent sized private bathroom.
AC runs ok and is a little on the rough side when cooling a completely warm room.
We slept on the mats instead of the beds to keep cool. Just stayed a night because we'll, I messed up the timing of the trip and was there a day earlier than I expected.
The other rooms I heard house multiple bunk beds and a shared bathroom. It's very close to restaurants, public transportation, and convenient stores. Smoking area is right in front of the entrance. If you're a smoker/caper you'll want to keep that in your back pocket if you're near that area.
AMAZING RESTAURANT.
I have never had a more friendly chef at a restaurant. The atmosphere he created around preparing the food with the guest seated right in the kitchen was phenomenal. His two support staff were also great supplements.
The way he found time to sit down with us at our table, even though our table was a bit off to the side. He took a genuine interest in our visit to Japan, gave traveling tips and advised on the how to get home.
A VEGAN FRIENDLY CAFÉ.
We had hazelnut ice lattes with scones and everything was delicious, all homemade.
Staff are extremely friendly and they do have English menus available which is very helpful when travelling abroad.
Good spot for a good coffee and an enjoyable snack.

A BEAR THEMED CAFÉ.
It was an interactive coffee shop! What a fun experience.
A bear (not real) will entertain you while waiting for your order.
Coffee-wise it was okay. Good thing the place was cute and fun. Also another downside was there’s no place to seat, chill and enjoy your coffee.
A FANCY CAFÉ.
Such amazing service from the entire team—every staff member in the store was warm and attentive from the moment I walked in.
It was pouring that day, and not only did they take care of my umbrella, but they even handed me a towel to wipe my face. That level of care made the experience truly unique.
I’m no chocolate connoisseur, so I can’t judge the flavours like an expert—but to me, it tasted like good chocolate should: rich and satisfying.
What really stood out was the aesthetic. The décor was stunning, and even the toilet felt luxurious, complete with a proper towel dispenser.
THE PLACE FOR GOOD DOUGHNUTS.
Visiting Higuma Donuts was high on my bucket list for my trip to Japan, and I’m so glad I finally got to check it off!
From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made it feel like a special stop, not just a quick snack break.
I ordered an iced coffee and one of their famous homemade donuts—and it absolutely did not disappoint.
The donut was fresh, light, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. You can really taste the quality and care they put into their ingredients. Paired with the smooth, refreshing iced coffee, it was the perfect mid-day treat.
If you’re a donut lover or just want a unique local spot to relax and indulge, Higuma Donuts is definitely worth a visit. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
AN INNOVATIVE RESTAURANT.
We ate our way through Japan, from hidden ramen shops to Michelin-starred destinations, and Ode in Tokyo stood above them all.
The food was strikingly creative yet beautifully precise, showcasing both world-class ingredients and the intentionality of their preparation. The beverage pairing was just as impressive- nuanced, balanced, and elevating each dish.
The hospitality was phenomenal: warm, genuine, and exacting without a trace of pretense. A highlight was the hand-made soba, presented during the experience with elegance that felt natural rather than staged.
A THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED RESTAURANT.
The interior is thoughtfully designed—bright, welcoming, and infused with natural light.
Deep emerald green accents, mosaic tiling, and bistro-style chairs create a cozy yet sophisticated vibe.
The staff at Taverna are exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable.
A delightful start to the meal, the 🥗 is a refreshing start.
The soup was a creamy, and flavourful. Cheesecake is good—creamy, rich, and nicely caramelized.

A STYLISH RESTAURANT.
One of our new favourite restaurants in the neighborhood.
This quite unique place is relatively great value with fun dishes and wonderful flavours.
It has an interesting niche style of a higher end fusion Izakaya. A mix of Japanese influence and ingredients on global dishes - their play on sashimi or potato salad, an Asian style Paella, a cheeseburger egg roll and fun takes on Onigiri and mochi dessert.
The style, ambience and service match the vibe. We’ve already been a few times and reckon we will become regulars.
A HIDDEN AND QUIET CAFÉ.
I went on Monday around 4pm, and sadly all the toast ran out but they still had other sweets. There weren’t a lot of people when I went, so I was able to take my time and enjoy my order. The store is a little small, but they know how to make the most of the space without making the place feel cramped. Coming into this place feels like stepping into a time capsule, I loved everything in here.
I really liked the mini matcha sundae, and the matcha au lait went really well with it. The ice cream was very flavorful and the drink was so creamy, and you can adjust the sweetness of your drink by adding in your preferred amount of syrup.
IT'S ALL ABOUT BLACK LATTE !
If you ever visit Japan, make sure to stop by this cafe in Shibuya! I
found out Latte Art Mania a while ago on Instagram, many posts and stories of them teaching the latte making process.
I visited on a light shower day in the early afternoon, the atmosphere inside was just perfect for a cup of latte. I had the Latte Black, it had a smooth texture with little to no bitterness to it, and a hint of nuttiness.
For entree, I chose the Spicy Pizza Sandwich, it was a bit messy to eat when biting into it, but it was still tasty. Dessert, I went for the Cinnamon Vanilla Parfait, a scoop of vanilla ice cream served on top of a donut, dusted with cinnamon powder and brown sugar and syrup.
Overall a great place to have a stay in cup of latte, next time when I come back to Japan, I will definitely visit this place again and attend their latte class!
A COOL COFFEE SHOP IN TOKYO.
Fuglen Oslo is a famous coffee shop from Norway that was once featured in The New York Times and described as one of the best coffees in the world, worth flying for.
They have a branch in Japan, so I made a special trip to check it out. It is located in Shibuya, but not in the busy centre. You need to walk about ten minutes to get there.
I ordered an iced mocha, but unfortunately they do not offer skim milk.
The atmosphere inside is quite nice, but there were many people taking photos for social media. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing coffee experience, it might be hard to enjoy unless you do not mind being in someone else’s photo.
I was so happy shopping at Narita Airport that I couldn't stop smiling 🤣 I'll continue shopping for souvenirs that I didn't buy❗
Narita International Airport, located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, is Tokyo's main international gateway.
If shopping for cosmetics and snacks in Japan isn't enough, there are tons of popular souvenirs to choose from, perfect for friends and family back home. 👍👍👍
From the ever-popular Tokyo Banana (which I bought back home as a gift for a friend), to the ever-popular New York Perfect Cheese (cream cheese crisps), Shiroi Koibito Love & Sweet (I bought the tinned version so I can keep the box as a souvenir after finishing my meal! 🥹), the Three Brothers French Fries, and Royce Chocolate (which also comes in white and milk chocolate! ❗), these are some of my favorites and most classics! 👍 I used to be obsessed with Mary's chocolate; each piece is uniquely shaped and truly delightful to look at (they're also available at Daye Takashimaya! ❗).
Of course, souvenirs are constantly being updated, so choose according to your preferences.
There's a super cool Akihabara shop in Terminal 2's departure area! It also sells Japanese snacks, souvenirs, and anime merchandise.
Found a cute Eevee backpack and a handmade Japanese kimono bear 🧸
My husband bought three magazines with free gifts 👍

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURE AND SCIENCE.
This has got to be one of the most underrated places to visit in Tokyo.
The dinosaur fossils are incredible, and the collection is vast. You could really spend the entire day here and it would be an amazing time.
They also have a science and tech section, but that wasn't really for me; those who enjoy that will likely be intrigued though.
Definitely worth the small fee to enter, and given the crowds on a weekend do purchase them online.
THE OWL CAFÉ IN TOKYO.
The owl cafe is located on a quiet street.
If you need to use the restroom go before hand or at the Lawson up the street. There are seats outside to await your reservation and books to read to learn about the owls and owls in general. Before you go in it can be good to identify if there are 1-2 owls you want to hold. They will take one photo of you with an owl and you can take as many as you like with your phone. It is a very quiet place so only whispering and slow movements.
There are owls everywhere! This is not a place to pet animals. It’s more of observe, hold, and a gentle tap on their heads. You can definitely tell the staff love the animals and take great care of them.
The place is clean. A few of the owls will glide back to their perches and a few will make some vocalizations. Most sit quietly.
EXPERIENCING THE AVATAR ROBOT CAFÉ.
We had a truly heartwarming experience at Dawn Avatar Robot Cafe.
The concept itself is inspiring.. robots controlled by people who cannot leave their homes, yet still able to serve, connect, and communicate.
The atmosphere is calm, meaningful, and filled with a quiet sense of empathy and hope. One of the robots was operated by a very kind and polite person.
We had a lovely conversation and we were told they were connecting from a different city outside Tokyo. They mentioned there's a famous zoo near their home, though we can't remember the exact city name. It was incredibly touching to speak with someone remotely who felt so present and thoughtful.
We left with not just food and coffee, but also with a full heart. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Tokyo. not just for the innovation, but for the human connection.
A FUN THEMED CAFÉ IN TOKYO.
A perfect celebration of American nostalgia. This isn't the dull, mindless Americana worship you see in other places in Japan, the love here is real, and it's infectious. Everything in Nope is super consistent and carefully curated, from the decoration to the food.
The menu is very simple but the conciseness means they got every item just right. A very clever and delicious take on basic American home cooking.
Moya and Ken, the owners, are incredible as well. They're so kind and friendly, some of the best people I've met in Japan. Really really fun to talk to. Nope is a must visit for if you like unique, authentic cafes.
ROPONGGI HILLS
Roppongi Hills is one of the best examples of a city within the city. Opened in 2003 in the heart of Tokyo's Roppongi district, the building complex features offices, apartments, shops, restaurants, a hotel, art museum, observation deck and more. The office floors are home to leading companies from the IT and financial sectors, and Roppongi Hills has become a symbol of the Japanese IT industry.
At the center of Roppongi Hills stands the 238 meter Mori Tower, one of the largest buildings in the city. While most of the building is occupied by office space, the first few floors have restaurants and shops and the top few floors house an observation deck and modern art museum that are open to the public.

SHINJUKU GOLDEN GAI.
Shinjuku Golden Gai. Born in the chaotic post-war period, this place with over 70 years of history is very familiar to Tokyo locals like me.
This area, once a black market, has evolved over time into a gathering place for cultural figures, and now attracts the attention of travelers from all over the world as a unique neighborhood.
With over 200 small bars lining narrow alleys, buildings that retain the atmosphere of old Tokyo, and a unique space that comes alive at night. This isn't just a bar district, but an interesting place where Tokyo's history and culture are condensed.
YOYOGI PARK.
Yoyogi Park (代々木公園, Yoyogi Kōen) is one of Tokyo's largest parks, featuring wide lawns, ponds and forested areas. It is a great place for jogging, picnicking and other outdoor activities.
Although Yoyogi Park has relatively few cherry trees compared to other sites in Tokyo, it makes for a nice hanami spot in spring (late March to early April). Furthermore, it is known for its ginkgo tree forest, which turns intensely golden in autumn (late November to early December).
Before becoming a city park in 1967, the area where Yoyogi Park is located served as the site of the Olympic Village for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and before that, as a residential area for US military personnel.

💞Recommended: Enjoy delicious ramen accompanied by Chiikawa characters 😋😋

This Shibuya-based ramen shop has collaborated with Chiikawa, a popular and adorable character from Japan and Hong Kong. 🥰🥰🥰 From the signage, interiors, merchandise, and food, everything is filled with Chiikawa and his friends, making it a perfect place for Chiikawa fans. 😍😍😍

BEAUTIFUL HAMA RIKYU.
Hama Rikyu (浜離宮, Hama Rikyū), is a large, attractive landscape garden in central Tokyo.
Located alongside Tokyo Bay, Hama Rikyu features seawater ponds which change level with the tides, and a teahouse on an island where visitors can rest and enjoy the scenery.
The traditionally styled garden stands in stark contrast to the skyscrapers of the adjacent Shiodome district.
THE TSUKIJI OUTER MARKET.
The Tsukiji Outer Market is a fantastic and lively spot to visit. You can find an incredible variety of fresh seafood and delicious street food here.
It is a perfect place to try some amazing food and get a taste of authentic Tokyo culture.
Variety of fresh seafood and all kinds of yummy Japanese food available. My personal idea is to buy and eat all kinds of food being sold here. Buy a little bit of everything to savour the good foods.
Don't need to sit in the restaurant. Recommend egg omelet, melon smoothie, seafood Don,Tempura stand on the main road.
Mocha soft serve ice cream is a must try.
This is a must visit market for foodies.
