📍Ancient lotus on Shimadajima We aim to plant ancient lotus, a symbol of friendship and peace, on Shimadajima, where abundant nature remains, and to make it a major base as a new tourist resource. Ancient lotus is a type of flowering lotus, and since it blooms dozens of times more than edible lotus, you can enjoy the beautiful flowers in early summer, and harvest the lotus seeds in autumn, which are used by many companies for product development. We also cultivate ancient rice, and try to use it as a specialty product of Naruto along with lotus root and narichuru udon, and hold many events such as ancient lotus flower viewing parties and lotus root digging experiences, to revitalize the local area. It was planted in fallow fields in 2014, mainly by local revitalization volunteers from within the prefecture. "Ancient rice" was also planted along with the "ancient lotus". #0yentravelFebruary2025
