- Historical Development: The museum was rebuilt in 1979 and moved from Tianshui Chenghuang Temple to Tianshui Fuxi Temple in 1986, forming a "museum and temple integration" structure. In 2008, it obtained the "Movable Cultural Relics Restoration Qualification" and "Movable Cultural Relics Technical Protection Design Qualification" and established an academic committee. In 2009, the Historical Relics Exhibition Hall was completed and opened to the public free of charge. The Cultural Relics Protection and Restoration Center was established in February 2012. It was rated as a national first-class museum in 2016, and construction of the new museum project started in January 2021. - Architecture and layout: The land area is 35,000 square meters and the building area is 8,580 square meters. Located in the Fuxi Temple, relying on the ancient building complex of the Fuxi Temple, the overall architectural style is coordinated with the Fuxi Temple, presenting a simple and solemn atmosphere. - Collection of cultural relics: a total of 12,478 sets (items) (as of 2022). Important collections include a Warring States-era silver-inlaid cloud-patterned bow-holder, which was made with silver inlay and has patterns all over its body. It was an ancient feature of chariots and horses; a Sui Dynasty-era gilded and painted screen-covered stone couch, which reflects the culture of the Sogdians and has been designated as a national cultural relic; a Tang Dynasty pottery dancing horse figurine, which originated in the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties and flourished in the Tang Dynasty; a green glazed stupa, made in the Song Dynasty, which consists of a top, body and base with a unique shape; and a Tang Dynasty stupa stele, which consists of a head, body and base, with inscriptions such as "Zhenyu Tang Bangchuan" and "The Sixth Year of Tianbao and Yong'an Temple". In addition, there are also many cultural relics such as stone tools, pottery, bronze wares, iron wares, ancient coins, etc. - Exhibitions: The exhibition content of the Historical Relics Exhibition Hall is based on "Cultural Tianshui", including the prologue hall, Tianshui general history exhibition and 6 special exhibitions such as painted pottery, bronze ware, Yaozhou kiln porcelain, calligraphy and painting rubbings, 1 Sui Dynasty gilded painted screen stone couch special exhibition, 1 Song Dynasty tomb restoration exhibition, 1 Fuxi achievements exhibition, 2 temporary exhibition halls and 1 multimedia studio. The exhibition systematically displays the historical development context and cultural characteristics of Tianshui area from ancient times to modern times through rich cultural relics, detailed historical materials and diverse display methods. For example, the painted pottery exhibition presents the development, evolution and artistic style of painted pottery in Tianshui area in different periods. - Cultural activities: Actively carry out various cultural activities, such as holding social education activities, academic lectures, seminars, forums, etc. We will make use of traditional ethnic minority festivals to carry out "four-in" (into schools, communities, enterprises, and villages) activities in ethnic minority areas to conduct cultural publicity and social education; cooperate and exchange with relevant domestic and foreign universities and cultural institutions to jointly organize various activities related to historical culture, ancestral culture, and ethnic integration; hold special exhibitions on Fuxi culture and ethnic unity, develop themed cultural and creative products, and integrate ethnic cultural elements with cultural and creative images. - Honorary Titles: It has been awarded the Gansu Province Social Science Popularization Demonstration Base, the National Science Popularization Education Base, the National First-Class Museum, the Sixth Batch of Provincial Ethnic Unity and Progress Demonstration Units, the Eleventh Batch of National Ethnic Unity and Progress Demonstration Units, and many other honors. - Opening hours: Closed.
