Hverfjall - Iceland

Today, we'll explore Hverfjall Volcano in Iceland! This volcano is just a short drive from Lake Mývatn, and you'll see a large, round volcano standing tall and imposing. The path leading up to the crater rim isn't too steep. I walked along, breathing in the fresh, cool air. Upon reaching the crater rim, I was amazed by the panoramic view of the nearly symmetrical crater, overlooking the lake and lava fields as far as the eye can see. Along the way, there's information about the volcano. Hverfjall is approximately 2,500 years old, and was formed by a violent past eruption. The walk around the crater takes over an hour.
