Thessaloniki’s embankment is especially charming in the evening - during sunset with sun rolling into the water behind the port and afterwards when the sky turns dark - that’s when famous installation The Umbrellas by Zongolopoulos gets illuminated and looks especially pretty. Start at one of numerous waterfront cafes or bars and sit for a drink, then walk all the way to the White Tower and check local street musicians, then go take a photo of The Umbrellas. The place is full with locals and I loved to he part of everyday beautiful life of Thessaloniki.
