Avoid: Areas near windows, under hanging lights, unsecured cabinets, or elevators. b. Special Locations High-rise buildings: Do not jump from windows; stay away from exterior walls and protect yourself from falling debris. Traditional wooden houses: Evacuate quickly to open spaces (wooden structures may collapse but cause less injury). (3) Outdoor Survival Strategies a. Urban Areas (1) Protect your head and stay away from billboards, utility poles, brick walls, and vending machines. If in a vehicle: Pull over immediately and remain inside (avoid bridges/tunnels).
