Route from Tengchong → Ruili → Mangshi | Let Me Play Until I Don’t Want to Go Home Day 1: Self-drive to Tengchong Ancient Town and check in - Tengchong Hot Pot Scenic Area (hot pot roasted eggs) - Simola Wa Ethnic Village - Earth Tea Sea - Return to Ancient Town (must try the rice bean jelly in the ancient town at night, only open in the evening) Day 2: Visit the morning market in the ancient town - soak in hot springs: Bailian Hot Spring Hotel - stroll around the ancient town. The ancient town is great for walking around, and there are activities during National Day. We watched a puppet show which was really good (detailed guides can be found in the notes) Day 3: Depart from Heshun Ancient Town to Ruili Agricultural Trade Market (must arrive early!) - One Country, Two Villages - Ruili Port - Zongfo Temple - Head to Mangshi to eat fresh live crabs (so delicious) Day 4: Sleep in - eat fresh live crabs at noon (so good it made me cry) - wash hair - Golden Tower and Silver Tower (traffic jam was terrible, so we left) - Best Food - Kehu Coffee Estate (China’s number one coffee village) - Stay at Greenli Homestay near Baihualing hiking trail (inform the owner in advance if you want dinner). Next day, hike Baihualing Day 5: Have breakfast at Greenli Homestay and set off for Baihualing hot spring hike - descend in the afternoon (dine at Greenli Homestay) - head to Panzhihua for barbecue Day 6: Visit Panzhihua Zoo to see “Officer Leopard,” so chubby hh (eat rice noodles at Lao Yanbian Zhang Ge Lamb Restaurant in the morning) Return to Chengdu in the afternoon.
