[Myanmar🇲🇲] A cave with 8,000 Buddha statues

What surprised me about the Buddhist facilities in Myanmar was the number of them. There are about 3,000 pagodas in Bagan, but there are 8,000 Buddha statues in Pindaya Caves. I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of them. It is in a difficult location to access, but it is a rare place that I would definitely recommend visiting. You will also need to climb a long staircase (see the third photo) and navigate a narrow path inside the cave, so it is not suitable for large luggage. It is dark inside and crowded with monks and tourists, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. 🌼Name: Pindaya Caves Access: There is a local bus from Kalaw, but be careful as the last bus leaves early.
