New experience of old military village

🏖️Matsu New Village was built in 1957 to accommodate officers and their families of the 84th Army Division stationed in the Matsu area. The "Ma Village Story House" located at the entrance of the village has a rich exhibition of the story of the Matsu New Village, showing the rise and fall and evolution of the military dependents' village, which initially had only 46 households as its core and expanded outward to a settlement of more than 200 households. 🏖️The simple traditional buildings with traditional red brick or cement walls, wooden beams and black tile roofs give people a strong sense of nostalgia. The village is arranged in a Bagua style with an octagonal pavilion. Residents have courtyard gardens and many historical traces from the military dependents' village period are preserved. Strolling through the alleys is like visiting an elegant and beautiful park. The environment and atmosphere are comfortable and not as crowded as other military dependents’ villages. 🏖️After the renovation of the old military dependents' village, it was planned to be the "Matsu New Village Military Dependents' Village Cultural and Creative Park". The buildings from the military dependents’ village period are preserved and converted into exhibition halls, workshops, specialty restaurants and unique cafes, making it a cultural and creative industry base that integrates historical culture with modern creativity. It is not only a place to witness history, but also a place to experience the fusion of cultures from north to south of China. It is a good place for nostalgia and taking photos. 💞Special recommendation: The Zhongli Light Spot Cinema, located at the entrance of the village, was originally the activity center of Matsu New Village. Now it has become a venue for displaying film history and culture, playing and discussing films, and occasionally launching film exhibitions with different themes. Perhaps, you can take some time to watch a movie and taste the culture and food of the military village.
