Hida Kokubunji Temple near Takayama Station

Hida Kokubunji Temple is located just a short walk from Takayama Station. This temple is famous for its three-story pagoda and an old ginkgo tree, which are immediately visible as you pass through the gate. There is also an impressive bell tower gate that you can see up close. The main hall, located straight ahead from the gate, has an admission fee of 500 yen, where you can view Buddhist statues designated as important cultural properties by the national government. Even if you only have time to explore the area around Takayama Station, this temple is highly recommended. It is not overly crowded, allowing you to take your time to explore.
